In advance of the World Cup this year, FIFA announced the NFT debut. The “FIFA+ Collect” NFT, which will be built on the Algorand blockchain, will connect the most memorable gameplay experiences with the most famous visuals from the tournament.
Romy Gai, FIFA’s Chief Commercial Officer, stated that “the fandom is evolving and football fans around the world are engaging with the game in new and exciting ways.”
“Fifa+ Collect will be released in three language editions (English, French, and Spanish) and be accessible on all online and mobile platforms from the start, with more languages to follow.”
“The FIFA platform is the first physical embodiment of the recently announced technological relationship between FIFA and Algorand,” said Sean Ford (NYSE:F), interim chief executive of Algorand. “It is powered by a genuinely decentralized and scalable public blockchain.”
The dedication of FIFA to linking Web3 through Algorand, according to Ford, “is a monument to its spirit of innovation and desire to communicate directly and seamlessly with football fans across the world.”
