Mercedes has partnered with Art2People to create NFTs A Mercedes-Benz exclusive, the exhibition and promotion of the G-Class range, according to a tweet from the automaker itself.
Five artists were commissioned to create different works, drawing inspiration from the G-Class in a range of situations – resulting in unique designs for each piece.
For this project, five artists from the NFT sector were selected to interpret G Class in their own style. The artists involved come from different fields such as music, fashion industry, graphic design, architecture, creative marketing, luxury product design and real estate. The artists are Charlotte Taylor, Anthony Authie, Roger Kilimanjaro, Baugasm and Antoni Tudisco. Mercedes will launch these NFTs on Sunday on the Nifty Gateway platform.
Mercedes is not the first international brand to get involved in the NFT sphere. In June 2021, McLaren revealed its intention to use NFT to create virtual versions of the cars used in Formula 1. In July 2021, Coca Cola launched a unique initiative to raise funds for the Special Olympics through NFT.
As for Mercedes-Benz, this isn’t the first time the company has used blockchain technology either. The automaker has in the past partnered with Circulor to ensure that cobalt emissions are tracked throughout the supply chain.
