This is one of the major actions in support of Ukraine, a victim of a war started by Russia. On Wednesday, an NFT bearing the Ukrainian flag was auctioned off. A total of $6.7 million was raised, according to CNN. The money will be donated to the association “Come Back Alive”, which supports the Ukrainian armed forces.
The auction was initiated by Nadya Tolokonnikova, one of the members of the feminist Pussy Riot collective, and organized by the association UkraineDAO. The latter was created shortly after the beginning of the Russian invasion in order to support the Ukrainian war effort.
32.5 ETH donation just came in.

NFT has attracted 3,200 contributors who will each receive a share of the non-fungible token in proportion to their investment. As a reminder, NFTs are used to authenticate and secure the purchase of a digital object. Usually, it is a rather speculative investment, but in this context, the UkraineDAO association has strongly “encouraged” buyers to keep their share “in order to keep in mind the humanitarian needs of our world”. All of the $6.7 million will therefore be donated to the Come Back Alive charity, which aims to support Ukrainian forces in the midst of a war with Russia. Since the beginning of the invasion of the country, this association has also been the subject of numerous donations in cryptocurrencies following an appeal by Ukraine to face the attack orchestrated by Vladimir Putin.
